Conservation Manager

Conservation Manager

To be based in Nairobi, Kenya

Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Conservation Manager will ensure the development and implementation of the WWF Kenya Conservation Strategy.

The major duties of this position will include but not limited to: 
  • ensuring that the WWF Kenya Conservation Strategy is developed and evolves in line with Kenya conservation requirements;
    provides advice and collaboration as appropriate to WWF programmes; 
  • promotes the vision and objectives of the WWF Kenya Conservation Strategy to external and WWF stakeholders, and leading building strategic partnerships/fundraising.
The applicant must possess at least a Master’s degree in an appropriate field (conservation, environment, natural resource management, marine, forest, freshwater, terrestrial ecology).

Additional academic training or a degree in a management field would be a strong asset;proven track record in successfully developing, leading, and managing conservation programme, natural resource management and/or other related fields. 

At least 7 years professional experience in a programme management role, 3 years of which should be in the Eastern/Southern Africa region (preferably Kenya), with demonstrated success in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
