Diocese of Lodwar invites applications from experienced persons to fill a vacancy as an Office Assistant

Position: Office Assistant

Project: Diocesan Youth Empowerment Programme (DYEP)
Reporting to: Programme Coordinator
Duty Station: Lodwar
Issue date: 26th June, 2013
Closing date: 8th July, 2013

Duties and Responsibilities:

Runs the Youth DYEP office on a day to day basis and maintains its cleanliness and orderliness.
Handle all communications from outside organizations to the Youth Programme.
Maintains the office files records of outreaches, school visits, and activities sponsored, implemented by the programmes.
Secretarial duties and simple book keeping.
Assist in compiling materials and data for programme reports to the Diocese and Donor group.
Maintains an adequate supply of stationery materials for office communication.
Responsible for the maintenance of office equipment and assets and safe storage and branding of the same.
Assist the Social Worker in his/her work and occasional field travel when necessary.
Liaises with Bishop Mahon Community Centre Manager.
Performs any and all other duties to which as may be assigned by the Youth Programme Coordinator.


Qualifications

At least a Diploma in Business Administration, Secretarial or Information Technology(IT)
2 – 3 years work experience in a similar position
Very well organized with a strong sense of responsibility and demonstrated computer skills
Able to establish and maintain good working relationship to work as part of a team
Very good command of written and spoken English
A recommendation letter from a Parish Priest.
