Program Director / Pilot and Aviation Logistics Manager Vacancy

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. 

Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We are seeking qualified applicants to fill the below positions.

1. Program Director / Pilot and Aviation Logistics Manager


Duty Station: Eldoret

Job Summary

Perform the duties of an FAA Licensed pilot and Program Director for Samaritan’s Purse Mission Aviation Services in Eldoret.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fly Samaritan’s Purse operated aircraft;
  • Oversee the Samaritan’s Purse Mission Aviation Services operation in Eldoret Kenya;
  • Performs pilot duties as needed or assigned;
  • Files flight plans as needed or assigned;
  • Obtains weather data and interprets data based on flight plan;
  • Completes aircraft weight and balances for flights;
  • Loads and unloads passenger’s luggage in aircraft;
  • Keeps assigned aircraft charts and software updated;
  • Keeps the aircraft clean, neat, and polished when home and away from the home base including sanitizing the aircraft restroom facilities after each flight;
  • Performs pre-flights and post-flights as needed to ensure safety of flight;
  • Works with the FAA as assigned;
  • Represents Samaritan’s Purse as a professional when dealing with donors, government officials, and others;
  • Manage the airport and town offices;
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, as well as able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education / Experience Needed
  • Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Pilot certificates. Must possess a valid FAA Commercial or ATP pilot certificate with Multi Engine and Instrument Ratings.
  • Minimum of 1500 flight hours total time. More than 2500 flight hours desired.
  • Must have previous experience in management of an aviation related business or organization operating under the U.S. FAR’s.
2. Aviation Logistics Manager

Job Summary

Manage the aircraft spares and equipment inventory, source and order replacement parts and track rotables out for repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure standardized systems, structures, procedures and policies for inventory management, procurement, vendor lists and logistics processes are implemented, maintained, and evaluated in accordance with standard FAA procedures;
  • Ensure FAA Approved Technical library and FAA Maintenance records are kept up to date and subscriptions are current;
  • Manage the inventory using the CAMP Maintenance software;
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated in accordance with applicable FAA standards;
  • Ensure the MAS EA program maintains adequate inventories to achieve desired operational readiness rates. Help set min/max levels and track life limited parts;
  • Ensure AOG parts are quickly identified, purchased and shipped by the most expeditious means possible;
  • Ensure cores are handled in a timely manner, track progress of overhauled rotables and ensure they are returned to the field;
  • Maintain current, accurate knowledge of the status of every shipment in process at any given time, including courier, airfreight and ocean freight shipments;
  • Be willing and comfortable working in remote environments, with little support structure, often in war zones;
  • When humanitarian crisis arise, it may be necessary to temporarily deploy away from the home base for several weeks, and even up to 30 days at a time.
Qualifications

Education / Experience Needed
  • Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies.
  • Maintain FAA Airframe and Power plant Certificate;
