Deputy Manager - Liabilities Group

Position Description
  
o Risk rating and acceptance within prescribed underwriting authority. This includes examining for correctness and signing policies and non standard endorsements before dispatch.
o Manages and maintains new & renewal eSTART activity
o Prepare risk submissions to the regional office in line with the delegated underwriting authority
o Make product presentations to Brokers, Agents and direct clients where necessary
o Assist in the preparation of annual departmental business plans and ensure the 90 days are followed and executed as agreed. 
o Handle enquiries from Brokers/Agents and clients and direct clients
o Submit weekly updates on production Vs. Budget and reasons for any variances.
o Prepare the following management reports; Regional Submission accounts report – Monthly; Liabilities Group MOR; each Month; Self Audits– Quarterly;  Renewal Treaty Renewal Evaluation Reports and other adhoc reports
o Assist receivables staff in following up outstanding premiums and reconciliation.
o Renewal Management; Diarize and coordinate renewals of major accounts that require regional submissions and approvals; Renewal retention analysis
o Broker & Client Visits
o Assist on monthly analysis of Claim reports (CL106) and portfolio experience rating
o Examine on a monthly basis the correctness of Xs of LOSS allocation on Liability claims .i.e.  WCA, EL, & GL.
o Assist in preparation of underwriting submissions to the regional office
o Prepare and analyze quarterly estimates and projections – Explain variances where applicable.
o Retain 90% count of your renewal accounts, while adhering to divisional profitability and underwriting guidelines.
o Identify 3 target brokers, establish relationships with your target brokers, and bind at least one new account from one of these brokers per quarter.   Review broker progress quarterly, substitute new brokers as appropriate

Position Requirements 

Bachelor of Commerce (Preferably Insurance Option)
Insurance Professional Certificate (ACII, AII, Kenyan Insurance Diploma etc – for TechHas strong knowledge of Liability products. Demonstrate strong business management skills, organizational ability, decision-making, and priority setting and has track record of accomplishment of superior time management skills.  Proven ability to develop and manage successful producer relationships. Integrity, image, communication skills, interpersonal skills at an established high professional level technical Underwriting Skills)
