OHR is one of the leading HR Consultancies in Kenya dealing with Recruitment & Selection, Training, Performance Management, and HR Policies & Procedures among others.  One of our clients, in the Engineering Industry is URGENTLY looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of a Human Resources Officer.


Main Purpose of the job


Providing effective administrative and operational support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance management and employee grievance and disciplinary handling, counseling etc to ensure optimal contribution of HR to the organisation.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Providing advice and assistance to supervisors and staff in all HR related issues.
  • Coordinating staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely organized and comprehensive procedure is used to hire staff.
  • Ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place as well as providing advice and assistance in writing the JDs.
  • Coordinating with the Management and HODs in ensuring the employee performance appraisals are scheduled and done.
  • Monitor staff performance and attendance activities through monitoring attendance, staff absences and recommending solutions to solve attendance difficulties.
  • Leave Management – ensuring leave is taken and records well kept.
  • Providing information and assistance to staff, supervisors and Management on human resource and work related issues
  • Provide basic counseling to staff that have performance related obstacles.
  • Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures;
  • Ensuring that all employees and managers are aware of HR policies and procedures and any periodic changes thereof.
  • Ensuring that all required information and records relating to employees are well and safely filed and kept.
  • Ensuring that Managers receive accurate and timely guidance in response to specific queries about HR Polices and aspects of the Employment laws.
  • Providing employees with guidance and support on all HR related issues

Qualifications & Experience
  • Business Related Degree
  • Diploma in Human Resources Management
  • Over 2 years experience in a busy environment with strong bias in HR.
