Reports To: The Team Leader 

Role Objective

The Lead Recruiter holds a leadership role within Dafina Consultants. 



The Lead Recruiter is not only responsible for their success, but has increased responsibility for the success of their team. 


The successful Lead Recruiter will have mastered the art of recruiting and be able to develop and mentor new recruiters so that they too can achieve success.

To play a key role in the administration of the day-to-day operations and the Consultancy projects

Ability to sell will be an added advantage

The holder of this post must have an Entrepreneurial Mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Seeks, interviews, assesses, conduct reference checks and provides candidates that completely satisfy the client requirements
  • This will be achieved through the development of a Recruiting Plan, to be viewed and approved by the lead Consultant.
  • He or she will also be expected to apply Human Resources’ sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas.
  • The Lead Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring we are presenting the best possible talent to our clients.
  • Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees.
  • Conduct Administrative duties and recordkeeping for the department.
  • Locate and document where to find ideal candidates
  • Create contacts within industry.
  • Maintain regular contact with possible future candidates
  • Attend career fairs and other corporate events for recruiting and company recognition.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers to stay abreast of current and future hiring and business needs.
  • Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements
  • Must be able to head hunt
  • Perform reference and background checks for potential candidates.
  • Write and forward regret letters to candidates who fail to qualify for 2nd or 3rd stage of recruitment.
  • Prepare and send interview summaries.
  • Seeks, interviews, assesses, reference checks and places contract employees that completely satisfy the client requirements
  • Takes personal responsibility for and meets all individual activity goals
  • Actively participates in all team meetings; actively shares ideas and concepts.
  • Communicates with clients regarding specific job orders, candidate submittals and other candidate matters
  • Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position.
  • Efficiently and effectively fill open positions.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with clients to determine the effectiveness of all recruitments.
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates.
  • Post openings in online advertisements, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues.
  • Utilize the Internet for recruitment.
  1. Post positions to appropriate Internet sources.
  2. Improve the company website recruiting page to assist in recruiting.
  3. Research new ways of using the Internet for recruitment.
  4. Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.
  • Plays an active role in developing goals for new Recruiters though leadership and guidance.
  • Ensures new Recruiters are knowledgeable on how to use and set up their databases (ensures database integrity)
  • Interview applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, and job skills.
  • Must have great understanding of the Labour laws and DIT related laws
  • Able to develop tailored and accurate job descriptions
  • Perform searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, cold calls and referrals
  • Contact applicants to inform them of employment possibilities, consideration, and selection.
  • Able to provide sound and professional advice and assistance when conducting recruitment
  • Project yearly recruitment expenditures for budgetary consideration and control.
  • Conduct reference and background checks on applicants
  • Target to close positions within a week
  • Have excellent filing of the department’s documents
  • Able to explain the client’s personnel policies, benefit and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Process and view employment applicants to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants
  • Arrange and attend client meetings
  • Project yearly recruitment expenditures for budgetary consideration and control.
  • Provide feedback to the management on how to enhance a better and cordial working environment
HR Consultancy
  • The holder of this position must be knowledgeable in Human resource to develop solutions for clients
  • Knowledgeable on labour laws
  • Knowledgeable on Strategic H.R.
  • Knowledgeable in Performance management
Must prepare the following reports;
  • Daily Activity reports
  • Monthly progress report        
  • Weekly progress report
  • Quarterly development report
Working knowledge of the following HR disciplines is required:
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Ability to work well with others both as a member of a group and as a leader who gets things done through others
  • Proven ability to plan and manage complex administrative activities and processes
  • Knowledge of organization, operating procedures, and policies of the human resource department
  • Knowledge of techniques of interviewing, selecting and recruiting applicants.

Skills Set Needed
  • Must be outgoing and self-motivated with a strong desired to excel; and the ability to lead others

  • A confident and positive attitude
  • Ability to prepare reports, and proposal policies and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • The ability to work well in team.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, the Internet and computer aptitude
  • The Lead recruiter is to work closely with all HR Consultants/HROs attached to the various clients in the formulation and implementation of all HR programs, techniques and processes.
 Desirable
  • Minimum Diploma in HR
  • Minimum 1yr experience in a relevant position
  • Between 27-35yrs.
