Background

The Kimetrica Group is an international company providing knowledge services primarily to the non-profit sector. Kimetrica Limited is based in Nairobi and works with clients throughout Africa, in Europe, and in the US.


We are seeking to recruit a bright and highly motivated software developer who can provide technical expertise and support in the field of online software development and applications.  


Junior software developers are expected to assist with coding, interface development and documentation of software. 

You will join a young and dynamic team that develops online database applications for international clients. 

Much of the work is on core research and development on cutting-edge technologies. 

There are excellent opportunities to progress within the company.

The deadline for this vacancy is  24th February 2014, though applicants are encouraged to apply before the deadline.

Key Tasks
  • The job holder’s key responsibilities will be:
  • Coding in C# or Java
  • Develop web applications on asp.net/C# architecture
  • Development of interfaces in HTML/CSS/Java Script
  • Development of reports
  • Development of stored procedures
  • Unit testing
  • Ensuring code conforms with Kimetrica standards
  • Technical documentation
  • Participation in technical training
Qualifications and Experience

Required
  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with development of online applications or websites (personal initiative, school projects or commercial projects)
  • High capacity for rapid learning
  • Ability to write meaningful code in at least one common programme language: training in C# and Java will be provided
  • Knowledge of object oriented programming is a key requirement
  • Good understanding of relational database systems
Desirable
  • Previous experience on commercial software projects
  • Experience in a asp.net environment
  • HTML5 experience
  • Experience in mobile programming

  • Two month probation period with conversion to long‐term contract conditional on performance and project funding
