Assistant Credit Controller

Position Description 

Weekly review of the allocated debtors portfolio and distribution of the same to the Profit Center Managers
Convene the weekly credit control Profit Center meeting, distribute minutes and follow up action plans in liaison with the Deputy Credit Controller.
Daily review of receipts to debtors ledger –ensure they balance with the cash book 
Daily identification of un –allocated cash ( receipts)and payments in the debtors ledger – using daily cash receipts downloads and ensuring allocation of the same.
Recommend to the credit committee which producers should have their credit facility withdrawn in liaison with the Deputy Credit Controller
Liaise daily with underwriters on queries raised by producers on their receipts
Convening and chairing reconciliation and confirmations meetings with producers based on correct statements and facilitate settlements in conjunction with the Deputy Credit Controller to resolve any receipting issues. 
Reconcile limited accounts  to ensure one remains relevant in Finance and Accounting World.

Position Requirements 

JOB PURPOSE


The job is expected to ensure that credit control procedures are adhered to and collection of over due debts is done.

The position ensures Chartis Kenya collects all the cash due to it on time hence improves cash flow.

It also ensure compliance with the insurance act, Accounts Receivables and Finance and Accounting Operating procedures 

Reconciliation of limited balance sheet accounts to ensure one remains relevant in the accounting profession.

Handle receipting related queries for all clients.

NATURE & SCOPE

This position reports to the Deputy Credit Controller and is guided by the credit policy and market trends and practices.  The holder is expected to obtain intelligence information and share it with profit centers and other Assistant Credit Controllers to improve the collection process.

This position is expected to design work methods and systems, train, delegate and constantly review the credit tasks to members of the credit control team.

The holder is expected to build good working relationships with banks and premium finance institutions, all major insurance intermediaries, and profit centers to facilitate collection.
