The Head, County Revenue will report to the County Chief Officer, Finance and Economic Planning
and will be responsible for;
  • Day to day running of the county revenue collection function,
  • To be in charge of the design and implementation of a computerized system of revenue accounting and collection,
  • Design, formulation and implementation of a comprehensive, efficient and effective revenue assessment ;
  • Design and implement efficient, effective and secure systems of revenue collection,
  • Development and implementation of County revenue diversification plans and revenue growth,
  • Implementation of county policies and regulations on revenue,
  • Maintain records of all the revenue sources centres rates and revenue collected.
  • Project regular revenue trends for planning and decision making in the County.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Chief Officer, Finance and planning.
Requirements for Appointment
  • Be a holder of Bachelor of Commerce Degree Accounting or Finance or related degree or equivalent from a recognized University in Kenya
  • Be a qualified accountant and a member of ICPAK ¡n good standing;
  • Be able to demonstrate familiarity with public financial management, revenue and accounting systems.
  • Be thoroughly conversant with various financial management and computerized systems
  • Have at least six (6) years post qualification experience, 3 of which must be in a senior management position in a busy commercial or public financial accounting or treasury environment.
  • Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant area will be an added advantage
Remuneration
  • Basic salary: Kshs. 109,089 — 144,928 p.m.
  • House allowance: Kshs. 40,000 p.m
  • Other allowances: Kshs. 1 6,000 p.m
  • 30 days annual leave with leave allowance

Applications can be hand delivered to the County Governor’s office, Murang’a at the County Public
Service Board Office on or before 1st October 2013.

Note

  • The Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
  • The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • The Ethics and Anti —Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • A recognized Credit Reference Bureau
  • A current membership Certificate of confirmation from the relevant professional body.
Copies of these certificates must be attached to the applications.

(i) The application should reach the Secretary, County Public Service Board, on or before 24th Sept 2013.
