Terms of Service: Contract

The posts will be one for EACH of the following positions
  • Finance and Economic Planning
  • Agro Marketing and Cooperative Development
  • Agriculture, livestock, Environment & Forestry
  • Health, Water & Sanitation
  • Trade, Enterprise and Resource Mobilization
  • Transport and Infrastructure Development
  • Education & Information and Technology
  • Youth, Culture and Social Services
  • Public Service
  • Land Housing & Physical Planning
Duties and Responsibilities

The Chief Officer will be the Accounting and Authorized Officer for the Department assigned and
will be responsible to the Executive Member for the following:
  • General administration and coordination of respective County Departments
  • Initiation, development and implementation of strategic plans
  • Computerization of the operations of the department
  • Promotion of National values and principles of governance and values and principles in the County Public service
  • Overseeing implementation and monitoring of performance management systems.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Committee Member or the county Secretary
Requirements
  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
  • Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • Possess professional qualifications in the relevant field;
  • Have relevant knowledge and experience in the area of interest and has served for not less than ten (10) years in a senior position in the Public Service or Private sector;
  • Be proficient in the use of relevant computer applications
  • Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.
  • Be a member of the relevant professional body and in good standing
  • A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage
Remuneration
  • Basic Salary: Kshs. 120,270 — 180,660 p.m
  • House allowance Kshs. 60,000 p.m.
  • Other allowances: Kshs. 20,000 p.m
  • Medical cover
  • 30 days annual leave with leave allowance

Applications can be hand delivered to the County Governor’s office, Murang’a at the County Public
Service Board Office on or before 1st October 2013.

Note

All applicants are required to obtain clearance from the following institutions;
  • The Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
  • The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • The Ethics and Anti —Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • A recognized Credit Reference Bureau
  • A current membership Certificate of confirmation from the relevant professional body.
Copies of these certificates must be attached to the applications.

(i) The application should reach the Secretary, County Public Service Board, on or before 24th Sept 2013.

(ii) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

(iii) Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original National Identity Cards, Certificates and Testimonials at the interview
