The Town Administrator shall be responsible to the Town Committee for the day to day running of Murang’a town.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implementing the decision of the town committee
  • Overseeing efficient management of the affairs of the town
  • Develop and adapt policies, plans, strategies and program necessary for the growth of the towns
  • Ensure preparation and submission of the town annual budget estimates to the county treasurer
  • Implement and monitor performance management system
  • Perform any other functions as may be delegated by the town committee or other county government body
Requirements for Appointment
  • Be a Kenyan Citizen
  • Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya
  • Must have at least five (5) years’ experience in administration and management in the public or private sector.
  • Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.
Remuneration:
  • Basic salary: Kshs.77, 527 -81,404 p.m.
  • House allowance: Kshs.40, 000pm
  • Other allowances Kshs.1 6, 000p.m

Applications can be hand delivered to the County Governor’s office, Murang’a at the County Public
Service Board Office on or before 1st October 2013.

Note

All applicants are required to obtain clearance from the following institutions;
  • The Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
  • The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • The Ethics and Anti —Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • A recognized Credit Reference Bureau
  • A current membership Certificate of confirmation from the relevant professional body.
Copies of these certificates must be attached to the applications.

(i) The application should reach the Secretary, County Public Service Board, on or before 24th Sept 2013.

(ii) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

(iii) Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original National Identity Cards, Certificates and Testimonials at the interview
