Reporting to the office of the County Secretary, the holder will be responsible for:-

Duties and Responsibilities

The Sub-county Administrators will be responsible to the Governor’s Office for the following
  • Coordinating, managing and supervising the general administrative functions in the sub county
  • Developing policies and plans for effective administration of the Sub-Counties
  • Liaise with National Government officers at Sub-County level
  • Ensuring effective service delivery to the people of the sub county
  • Coordinating development activities to empower the community
  • Ensuring provision and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities for effective Public Service.
  • Facilitating and coordinating citizen participation in the development of policies and delivery of service in the sub county
  • Exercising of any function and powers delegated by the County Secretary or County Public Service Board or any other Authority
Requirement for Appointment
  • Be a Kenyan Citizen
  • Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya in Social Sciences.
  • A master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • Have a working experience of not less than 5 years in middle or senior level management / administration
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of devolution, the County Development objectives and Vision 2030.
  • Satisfy the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.
  • Be proficient in the use of computers
Remuneration:
  • Basic salary: Kshs.89, 748 — 120,270p.m
  • House allowance: Kshs.40, 000pm
  • Other allowances Kshs.16, 000p.m

Applications can be hand delivered to the County Governor’s office, Murang’a at the County Public
Service Board Office on or before 1st October 2013.

Note

All applicants are required to obtain clearance from the following institutions;
  • The Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
  • The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • The Ethics and Anti —Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • A recognized Credit Reference Bureau
  • A current membership Certificate of confirmation from the relevant professional body.
Copies of these certificates must be attached to the applications.

(i) The application should reach the Secretary, County Public Service Board, on or before 24th Sept 2013.

(ii) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

(iii) Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original National Identity Cards, Certificates and Testimonials at the interview
