Business System Administrator

Our client is the ICT industry is seeking to recruit experienced individuals for the position of Business System Administrator. 

As Business System Administrator you will manage the technical and functional operation, maintenance and support of business systems and provide support to users, deliver high quality incident and change resolution services. 



Key Responsibilities
  • In a team environment, investigate, analyze and prioritize assigned incidents and service requests for business systems. Action requests, resolve problems, manage internal and external service providers and record all actions.
  •  Carry out routine auditing, monitoring, testing, maintenance and ongoing fault rectification of the system’s environments, services, functions, data, security and integrations to other ICT systems.
  • Consultatively analyze and scope routine and minor change requests to improve efficiency and effectiveness, manage the development of solutions and implement all changes by accepted change management and control practices to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain system administration documentation, test procedures and outcomes and knowledge base articles to a level that enables system and client service continuity.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to internal and external clients in the development and delivery of business process improvement, significant and major change projects and system related training.
  • Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project applications
  • Exposure to Prince2 Project Management Methodologies
Academic Qualifications and Requirements
  • Two years (2) of relevant experience with Microsoft Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policies and TCP/IP networking, network security.
  • Minimum 2 years’ Information technology Installation industry experience
  • University degree in the field of Information Technology.
  • 3 - 4 years direct work experience in a Business System Administrator capacity
  • Certifications in Project Management, MCSE, CCNA, CISCO, CITRIX Preferred.
  • Business Acumen highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of Windows administration, Active Directory, Network Services - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Satellite (VSAT), Domain Name System (DNS) etc Updates Services, DTU (lease lines) is an added advantage.
  • Database and operating systems experience with project management software.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Experience with a multi-site network (at least 3 sites) with a minimum of 100 users is highly desirable.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Flexible during times of change.
