Production Engineer Opportunity in Kenya

Job Title: Production Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an engineer with a broad understanding of process improvement techniques and lean manufacturing principles and how those principles can be incorporated into the manufacturing process.

Job responsibilities:
    •    Production planning, scheduling for manufacturing equipment.
    •    Handle day to day production issues with machineries
    •    Liaise closely with all departments on fulfilling delivery requirement
    •    Liaise and purchase raw materials from suppliers
    •    Lead, train and guide the production team
    •    Hands on when required at times of emergencies
    •    Plan and organize the daily production activities
    •    Work closely with departments for process improvement and product quality assurance
    •    Enforce and implement the ISO 90001:2000 Quality Management
    •    Proactive, innovative, team player, analytical, with strong business acumen
    •    Outline proposed production improvements including but not limited to change in material flow, workshop arrangement, station instructions, resource allocation, machinery utilization
    •    Work with staff to implement process improvement recommendations
    •    Evaluate and revise changes as necessary
    •    Implement an improved efficiency measurement system to capture labor efficiency, material yields, and rejects/rework
    •    Outline and implement a process improvement framework
    •    Teaching and training core tenants of lean manufacturing to production staff
    •    Work with Production Manager and Director of Operations to ensure production goals are met and on schedule
Skills
    •    Good personality and interpersonal skills
    •    Computer skills, including MS Office, Power point, etc
    •    Able to work longer hours when required
    •    Understand the concept of Lean Manufacturing 5’s and TQM and TPM
    •    Experience in Welding Inventory Control and ERP system will be advantage
    •    Strong in computer literacy
    •    Hardworking dynamic and enjoy challenges
    •    Proficiency on using engineering software
Qualifications Required
    •    Degree in engineering or 5 years work experience in a production engineering
    •    Excellent Knowledge of Production Planning
    •    Excellent Knowledge of Operational  Planning
