KASNEB Jobs

KASNEB is established under the Accountants Act, No.15 of 2008 and the Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya Act Cap.534 of 1988 with the mandate to develop syllabuses, conduct professional and technician examinations; certify candidates in finance, accountancy, governance and management, information communication technology and related disciplines; promote itsqualifications globally and accredit relevant training institutions.

The vision of KASNEB is to be a world-class professional examinations body and the mission is to provide globally competitive professionals by offering quality examinations.



Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following senior positions.

I. Director of Information Communication Technology

Ref: HRA/ICT/DICT/II/2013

Overall purpose

The Director of Information Communication Technology is the Head of the ICT Division and will be expected to provide strategic leadership and expert advice and input and deliver efficient and effective ICT services and ensure integrity and security of information systems.

Key duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Secretary and Chief Executive, the director will be responsible for:
  • Developing an ICT strategy and security policy.
  • Overseeing the security and integrity of ICT systems.
  • Directing the maintenance of both hardware and software for efficient and effective operations.
  • Formulating and implementing a prudent ICT risk management strategy.
  • Ensuring compliance with ICT regulatory requirements and relevant international standards.
  • Overseeing the implementation of the ISO Quality Management System in the Division.
  • Managing the divisional budget and ensuring adequate risk management.
  • Preparing board papers on ICT matters.
  • Providing leadership and effective supervision to staff in the division.
Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate shall possess the following:
  • Masters degree in computer science, information communication technology or related disciplines from a recognised university.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information communication technology or related disciplines from a recognised university.
  • Professional ICT qualification from a reputable professional body and a member in good standing of a relevant professional body.
  • At least ten (10) years relevant ICT experience in a senior management position.
  • Thorough understanding of automated examination systems will be an added advantage.
  • Possession of the CICT qualification offered by KASNEB will be an added advantage.
  • Must satisfy the provisions of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Key personal attributes

The ideal candidate should:
  • Be honest, trustworthy and possess a high degree of personal integrity and probity.
  • Be a team player with ability to provide strategic leadership and motivate staff.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Be able and willing to multitask and prioritise work schedules in order to meet deadlines and achieve results.
II. Director of Examinations

Ref: HRA/EX/DEX/II/2013

Overall purpose

The Director of Examinations will head the Examinations Division and will be expected to provide strategic leadership and expert advice and input, develop and implement examination policies and procedures to deliver efficient and effective examination services and maintain the integrity and security of examinations.

Key duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Secretary and Chief Executive, the director will be responsible for:
  • Developing, reviewing and implementing KASNEB examination syllabuses, policies, rules and regulations.
  • Maintaining the integrity and security of examinations while ensuring high professional standards.
  • Directing examination research and development processes.
  • Directing the administration and processing of examinations.
  • Developing and implementing quality assurance programmes in examinations.
  • Overseeing the accreditation of training institutions offering KASNEB courses.
  • Coordinating the management of examiners, invigilators and coordinators of examinations.
  • Overseeing the implementation of ISO Quality Management System in the Division.
  • Managing the divisional budget and ensuring adequate risk management.
  • Preparing Board papers on examination matters.
  • Providing leadership and effective supervision to staff in the division.
Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate shall possess the following:
  • Masters degree in education, commerce, business administration or related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Bachelors degree in education, commerce, business administration or related disciplines from a recognised institution.
  • A KASNEB professional qualification.
  • Demonstrable skills in curriculum development, test development, test measurement and management of examinations.
  • At least ten (10) years relevant experience in education/examinations management in a senior management position preferably in a professional examinations body or institution of higher learning.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Must satisfy the provisions of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
